Walk-A-Thon for Tay Sachs Disease -
In Memory of Joanne Brodeur for Dylan
Jo-Anne
Brodeur died of cancer in December 2003, and was a beloved
friend to Dylan’s family for many, many years. On
Jo-Anne’s birthday, Sunday, June 12, 2005, friends and family
organized the
Jo-Anne Brodeur Memorial Walk

brochure) along the Cape Cod Canal in Buzzards Bay, Massachusetts. Fifty
people joined her family that day and walked a mile together,
shared stories, cherished memories of Jo-Anne and celebrated
Jo-Anne’s life with love and laughter! Jo-Anne loved children
and would be so proud that her friends and family helped to
fight against this incurable disease in her memory. The family
is going to continue their efforts and make this walk an annual
event.
Along with donations, Dylan’s Cookbook,
JustBelieve Bracelets, and candles were sold, and over $3,000
was donated in memory of Jo-Anne to DJ’s Foundation for Tay-Sachs
Disease. This year's walk was held on June 11, 2006.
